L’Opéra @ Select City Walk

Walk in and you should feel like you are in Paris or, for that matter, anywhere else in the rest of Europe as you soak in the ambience and bite into your favourite bread or pastry. That’s the philosophy which drives  L’Opéra  as it gives Delhi a taste of top quality, authentic French products.

The latest in the list of outlets is at Select Citywalk, Saket, in Delhi where L’Opéra offers a complete Parisian experience. A feeling of space overlooking a courtyard is what sets the Saket outlet apart from the rest, including its popular Khan Market one.

"L’Opéra brings authentic and high-end French pastry and bakery products to the heart of the Indian capital. You can experience the delights and the exquisite taste of the best French pastries, macarons, croissants, baguettes and many other legendary products.

“We are trying to give the whole cultural experience of being in Paris,” says Shraddha Singh, deputy managing director of French Bakery Pvt Limited, which runs the outlets. The effort has paid off, with  L’Opéra  not only generating a band of loyal customers but also receiving some of the most prestigious gourmet awards in Delhi, including the prestigious Hindustan Times, HT City, Vir Sanghvi's Awards of Best Bakery - 2011 in Delhi; NDTV Good Times Food Award 2011 for Best Dessert and Coffee Menu in India; and the Times of India Food Award 2012 for Best Confectionary in Delhi.

In May 2012, the Executive Chef was awarded with the Gourmet Gurus Award for "Best Chef: Bakery and Confectionary" in Delhi.

When the French family which owns and runs it first opened shop in Delhi, it was as a modest home-delivery arrangement. With time, came more customers and requests to open to a full service outlet. So along came Khan Market, and, in course of time, Vasant Kunj and Galleria in Gurgaon.

But expansion has not meant a compromise when it comes to quality. That’s ensured by a Central Production Centre at Noida which operates under the watchful eyes of expert chefs.

“We procure locally if the ingredients meet our stringent standards. Otherwise we import, especially butter, cream and chocolates which impart the distinctive taste to our products. We don’t compromise on quality,” says Singh.

With a stickler for detail in the form of Executive Chef Thomas Blanchard and a team which believes in delivering the best, L’Opéra  offers what it describes as “French French”.

L’Opéra maintains that it’s the customer who has forged new avenues and created opportunities. This is the global Indian who knows exactly what he is looking for...and he knows that  L’Opéra is the place to find it."
